biography

Aziz Baziki was born in Istanbul in 1988. After he finished his Bachelor at the Conservatory of Istanbul University, he went on further to study bassoon at Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin with Prof. Volker Tessmann in 2012. In addition to his studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, he worked intensively with Prof. Klaus Thunemann. During his Bachelor and Master Degree Programs, he was awarded scholarships from the Borusan Culture and Art Istanbul and German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). He was a second prize winner of Intermusica Soloist Competition in Austria and participated in several competitions in Europe. Baziki had contracts in Schleswig-Holstein Landes Theater und Sinfonie Orchester, NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester Hamburg, and Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Orchester. He was also permanent member of German-Russian Music Academy Orchestra under Valery Gergiev. During his career he had the privilige of making music with Conductors Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Valery Gergiev, Herbert Blomstedt, Christoph Eschenbach, such as playing in Berliner Philharmoniker. Most recently, he completed his Meisterklasse studies at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music Dresden.

Aziz Baziki is an active performer with orchestras and ensembles such as Berliner Philharmoniker, Rundfunk Sinfonie Orchester Berlin, Deutsches Sinfonie Orchester Berlin, Konzerthaus Orchester Berlin, der Deutschen Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken, Ensemble Resonanz Hamburg, and since 2015, he is the permanent member of West-Eastern Divan Orchestra with Daniel Barenboim and Pierre Boulez Ensemble since 2018.

Since 2021, he is teaching at the Barenboim-Said Academy.
