SIR ANDRÁS SCHIFF
HAYDN
Pierre Boulez Saal

“Performing Haydn only as a warm-up at the beginning of a concert is doing him a great injustice,” says Sir András Schiff. “He’s one of three or four composers whose works can easily fill an entire program.” This is exactly what the British-Hungarian pianist, who in recent seasons performed the major keyboard works of Johann Sebastian Bach at the Pierre Boulez Saal, has chosen as his new project. The selection of works will be as surprising as Haydn’s diverse oeuvre itself: it will be announced by Schiff on the night of the concert.
